Tried many different Amber LED inside the reverse lens, but lens is milky so didn't show on sunny days, only found out when indicated on M42 to pull out and no one would let me
The Right hand pedal should solve that issue Ali!
If you really want the original look, if it were me i'd go the route of having a switch put in so I can go from US to UK legal.
Best of both worlds!!
As said, MOT and Police not a real issue. Your insurer being silly when the worse happens.....not worth the risk IMO!

too busy reading all the signs and driving in the hard shoulder to notice anything else
I have to ask has anyone ever seen the pedestrians or debry in the road?
i once saw a swan.... but thats it
or indeed come across the queue actually after the junction. i tend to be in the queue well before the junction and miss the talights in front due to reading the sign about the queue
or
there is no queue
or
in 1/2 a mile you have 70mph, then 40mph Queue stay in lane (licence to undertake) then back to 70 MPH again.... and the only queue is the one caused by the queue sign
remove the signs
remove all the cameras
stop trying to avoid congenstion in 1 place by atrifically causing it in others
remove all the frustration
people more likley to take note of whats right in front of them...

Agree "smart" motorways are not that smart. People speeding between gantries then braking, a lot of the M25 now has no hard shoulder. They spent all that time to just make the hard shoulder into lane 1. Why not add another lane? How long before someone breaks down with no where to pull off and they are killed because the gantry signs were not changed in time? Or someone is driving without paying attention and hits them?
But I have to rewire my car and change its lights that have been fine for 49 years because it was built eight months too late! I find the mot rule stupid as if I had a 65 Mustang, I could have standard lights, but a 66 is going to get smacked up the arse because some dozy bint had a melt moment as the light was red not orange!
Best thing is I live in Harlow, no one, not even the police bother with indicators, or most of the Highway Code! I blame the diet of shell fish and Chaz & Dave!

They definitely confuse some! I often approach a roundabout on a two lane road and have the car on the left of me turn right on me!
I really like the ones that drive very fast at the mini roundabouts and either leave indicating till they are on it or don't bother at all. So you have to stop and wait till they have gone.
I wired my indicator circuit into the reversing lamps on my Polara and the Fury...much better in my opinion, very bright day and night, no confusion. The ones on your charger are too close together so that's out the window unfortunately.
I will have to tackle this on the New Yorker when it lands as its all built into long lenses and the reversing lamps are too close together like yours.
Worth the effort in my opinion, and as said before, its just the 'out' the insurance will need if you have a bump
One of the Cars I run is not converted the others I have are I'm not sure it makes a lot of difference,so often I find people are so busy looking at the Car they pull up behind you whether you are indicating or not.
The Tester who suggested advising on rear amber lights being fitted is offering a solution,if this does not work out I can recommend a Test Centre.
Thanks for that - I recently went through the hunt for a new garage when the local friendly MoT station shut down. Always good finding out about the places that are friendly to the classics.
Cheers for the link. I got talking to some traffic police while waiting to pay for fuel and asked "What do you think when you see a 66 D reg American car with red indicators" he said it would come under a rule that the car was built that way so they would not bother with it. If they stopped me it would be to say "Nice car"
But it would still be an mot fail under the stupid (spits) rules and a worry regards insurance.

But they are all different........That's the problem!
One will say fine while the other will say NOPE!
As has been said........Insurance will be the one that creates the most pain if its required. Not, MOT, VOSA or police!

So had no choice but to change the reverse to orange bulb and use as indicators.
Didn't fancy being hit from behind
I have now tried my amber indicators through the red lens in direct sunlight and as cadboy says above, mine also are only just visible. They work fine when dull/in shadow but not in direct sunlight, so plan B needed
