Tunnel ram question

Post by stilltrying »

I have a 383 weiand tunnel ram with a single four barrel top and I'm really after a twin four barrel set up. I got the single one as I miss-takingly thought the twin top I had lurking in the garage looked to be a direct swap however it is most probably off a small block chevy set up as it is way shorter in the length. It looked correct from side view with the bolt bulges etc. but is miles out.
As I have not been able to get a twin top from anywhere to replace the single set up I was wondering if anyone knows if the twin top off a big block chevy might be the same as the bb mopar, my reason for this is that the top I have has 1985 S on it and when I google that number it comes up with BBC Not bb Mopar.
If no-one knows for sure does anyone have any leads as to where I might find an answer.
Sorry for long post.

I don't know for sure, some tops don't interchange. Weiand have a web forum for such questions, you should be able to get a definite answer there.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I've been looking for the weiand forum but get holley (realise they own them) but the last post for anything weind related was around 2011 or so. Do you have a link to one more up to date by any chance?

Well just an update. Got no replies from holley when I emailed them but decided a bbc top could well be the same so found one on evilbay usa, the guy measured the mounting holes and by my reckoning it was the same so bought it. It has now arrived and does indeed fit the 383 manifold so I'm a happy bunny.
