Anybody got one of these kits in the UK or know of another way of getting the rear upper seal out, without dropping the crank out.
I have the main bearings loosened off, but it will not budge. Have taken to carefully digging away at it from both ends, but has been 3 hours now and only 1" in either side and there is still no movement in it.
I am really starting to regret ever starting this and wish I had just left the dammed engine alone, but I was told its real easy to change the main shell bearing in situ and its not, its been days now!!!
Help please, I am way out of my depth with this now. HELP

Forgot to say, it is the old type rope seal that will not come out, just breaks up into tiny bits.

I was surprised nobody came back with any clues as to how, I must admit.
But I did it anyway, took another four hours and it was a bit like being a dentist doing root canal work
It came out in tiny bits right to end, but now gone and replaced with a new modern style one that just slid in.
