Raised throttle brackets for hi rise manifold.what you got?

Post by MilesnMiles »

Has a nasty stuck WOT throttle incident yesterday :help:
Despite checking everything with a helper before driving the car.
Don't want that experience again.
What are you guys using?
Any one got parts available?

I did mine like this when I had a cable. The stock cable is usually too short to mod the stock bracket unless you do it this way. Hi rise brackets need a longer cable, one from a 6cyl. car works or have speedy cables mod yours.
Ineffective return springs and trying to work around the stock short cable are the usual causes of WOT incidents.

Thanks Blue! was that an item that you bought? I haven't seen one like it on my various searches.
I seem to have sufficient cable length without stretching it. It's the angle it has to work at that was wrong.
I fitted a spacer and then used an alternative spring and yes, it was a weaker version.
Refitted what I had before and removed space until I can get better parts.
