Fuel sender pick up??

Post by rockinrich01 »

Having problems with my Satellite at the moment. I thought it was missing when revving hard, so last few days changed plugs and leads but no good.
I now think its a fueling issue. Had the car since April and twice the fuel filter in engine bay blocked up. Stripped carb today and that was caked right up. When driving car its more popping and banging at full throttle rather then missing. I imagine the fuel tank is rusty.
Is there a filter of some sort on the fuel tank sender pick up pipe that would block up or restrict flow??
We are suppose to be away on holiday next week with it but won't be going anywhere if i can't get it sorted!!
Cheers Rich

Hi,

I know when I replaced the sender on my Charger the end of the pickup tube had a fine mesh bag over it (on the old and new unit). Not sure if it's the same deal with the Satellite though.

Drop the tank, clean it out and inspect it then put it back together.
Lifes Too Fast But The Car`s Not, It even managed to miss the boat twice.
Now passed customs.
Now on route.
Now in posession.
Now costing me sh*t loads.
