Power Steering Fluid

What power steering fluid should I be putting in my 69 Coronet ? I have ATF Type F for my 70 Mustang, would that be ok ? Also should the cap be vented ? It does say vented on it but I can't see any holes on it, I have fluid coming out of the top on full lock, thanks

I use "F" Type in all trans and PAS applications....never had a problem...

Always used atf fluid in my Aussie charger, ..and it always leaked out of the power steering box,.......researched and found out that it is ok to top up with atf but initial fill fill should be with dedicated power steering fluid ( apparently it contains seal swelling properties!) .I drained the system and refilled with power steering fluid and it has not leaked since ( that was 10 years ago)

That's why I always use power steering fluid.

That's why I always use power steering fluid.
