Because of all the (annual) rumours of certain areas being closed from camping (particularly in the pits where we normally try and set up camp), we made an effort to get there a bit earlier than usual. We managed to get there around 9.15 on the Friday and were pleasantly surprised to see there were no Jobsworths on hand to tell us where we could and couldn't go. Also, as it turns out, because of the forecast, a lot of people who would normally have been there already, had stayed away, so we had plenty of space to choose from in and around the pits. Plus it was dry at the time, so quickly got the tents up and headed off to the Café for brekkie.
Then it rained....

With no chance of firing up the barbie on the Friday, we had 2 days worth of food to use on the Saturday so had a couple of cheese burgers for brekkie

Whilst the weather kept a few people away, we did manage to meet up with Mickey Fullbrook on the Saturday, who was up there with Graeme Arno - two of the Essex Moparites (Roughnecks) from when we were getting into it during the mid 80's. Mickey used to race the 'Big Bopper' Dart which is now.... or was until recently, video man Dave's yellow Dart. Mickey been recovering from a bout of the Big C so it was really good to meet up again after what must be more than 20 years.
Talking of Essex boys, we had the pleasure of Mark Pinborough's company Sat & Sun, also one of the 'old' (sorry Mark) Roughnecks - look out for his 69 R/T SE Charger next year.... hopefully..... another JC masterpiece in the making

Sadly no Jason or Blue this year tho. That would have almost been a full set of old faces

Anyhoo, here's a few pics what I took when it wasn't raining....
