hi,just joined the club, bought this car end of feb,15,it has a 413 b/b with 4 barrel holly,it's for strip not street, stripped out seats and other stuff not needed including bumpers, the gearbox is torqueflite 727 I think it's the original gearbox as it has a park cable and gear cable, bought a hurst shifter for it but no way will it fit as the hurst is leaver fit,any ideas on which shifter will fit,i noticed a lot of cars on strip have b&m shifters.

Welcome Jake - that sounds like you have a push button transmission with the Park cable and shift cable.

Post some pictures up!!

Sounds like a push button trans as Pete says, as far as I know there is no shifter that will fit, you'd have to change the transmission to a later style 727, nothing wrong with the push button though if it all works, I ran 9's shifting with the push button, took a bit of getting used too but worked great,

I think they take specific Convertors as well so choice will be limited unless you get one built to order.........

Don't think so Pete, the converter I sold you years ago for the dart then bought back came out of the push button box

Learn something every day.....I know that a convertor out of my old A904 did not fit a PB 727....we tried VERY hard but it did not go it properly ;)

Mind you, that was a long time ago and the memory is failing...........

Nobody makes an aftermarket push button shifters these days. They were available in the '60's but you'd be very lucky to find one these days and you better have $1000 in your pocket....
Given the fact that there's the convertor issue to get round as well, it would be easier to fit a later 727 and then the worlds your lobster as regards aftermarket parts.

This has to be one of the funniest posts here this year. :D

Im sorry to say that just looking for a random 'pat morris' will not automatically bring us to your wife FB page. :D It works for you as she's on your friends list. ;)

You could post a link to her page, that would help. PM me your car and Ill add it here if you like. :)
