Back in 2006 I bought this very Car and had two fantastic Summers out of it,we went all over including a trip to the Le Mans 24h. Fast forward to this year,after I sold both RAMs I owned I promised myself another project,maybe do a few RWYBs. My thoughts turned to the Monte and I began wondering what had become of her.A check online revealed SORNED and Untaxed since 2011,I went up in the Loft and dug out all the Sales Invoices to find the Address/Phone Number. I found the Address but I had not taken a number and they were ex directory
As luck would have it I had bought some Wheels for my J20 from a Chap in High Peak,45 mins away from Mansfield,a trip in the Van was planned.....I knocked on the Door to be greeted by the Family including two Huskies.Within a few minutes we were on his Grannies Drive where I was greeted by the old girl looking very sorry for herself,the Years had not been kind.A deal was struck and my Mate Dave collected it for me a few Days later.Plans are first to get her back on the Road and then go for a stout drivetrain and something fruity in the Engine Dept, currently the Gearbox is Toast and Steering is dubious,not to mention a fair bit of Bodywork and removing an inch of sticky Goo from the bottom of the Glovebox would be nice.
