and I had to rescue my wifes vintage silver bracelet from the chemical toilet in Yosemite after the clasp broke.
I had to get my arm down the hole wrapped in bin bags and use a T shirt as a gas mask...never again...
bracelet lived in a water bottle filled with disinfectant for the rest of the tip
surprisingly clean when eventually emptied out
Trip looks great...fantastic canyon and rock formations
I take it we will see the cars
1) driving through a redwood
2) balanced on a leaning redwood
3) next to the biggest and oldest redwood
happy memories
have a good time
Dave
LOL wow at least you didn't end up with a blue arm,and the park we are going to I don't think they will allow cars in this park,I know thw one you are talking about in Yosemite, but it was closed at this time, but off to San Fran,
One thing I noticed right away, where I live, elevation is just over 5000 ft,and down here at sea level the car runs like it has alot more horsepower,Altitude kills power.
Anyway, the golden gate bridge is cool.San Fran. is very nice but very crowded to us after the isolation in the desert,a bit of a shock.
Muir woods is as advertised plain awesome, it is so lush and green, the fragrance from the redwoods is something that has to be experienced .
Pics are hard to put in to perspective, but I did ok, they are not only huge, but very old, most started life some time around 900 AD,some of the oldest living things on the planet.
Few more pics, we are up early today we are attempting to stop by Grave Yard carz,up in Oregon, they close at 3 so we have to hit the road ,I have to wait for Dave to get his make up on and do his hair.
It'll be interesting to see how you're received at Graveyard Carz, ie whether they welcome 'visitors' albeit genuine Mopar-lovin visitors
I really enjoyed our few days in and around SF when we were there in '89 Maybe cos it seemed very European compared to the other places we've been to in the States.

Great pics of the bridge, btw
X2 on the bridge shots. Mine look rubbish in comparison... cos they are
Lifes Too Fast But The Car`s Not, It even managed to miss the boat twice.
Now passed customs.
Now on route.
Now in posession.
Now costing me sh*t loads.
Today was a day to remember, we left Eureka Cali., and the further north we got we noticed the trees got even bigger than Muir woods, it was a fantastic drive up Redwood Hiway/101,the canopy from all the trees,we even drove though one and didnt even notice till my mate Pat asked us,I NEVER SAW IT, IT WAS DARK AND WE WERE GOING FAST.
That was the start,we made it to Springfield Oregon home of Grave yard carz,I typed in the wrong address and ended up at our hotel with only 10 minutes till the shop closed at 3 pm.
I said to Dave we aint gonna make it,but since we are here we can take some pix out side to show we made it, so I typed in the address from their FB site, and we found it, only to have a bunch of Imports, hondas, toyotas and such, but I recognized the shop from the show, and knew they have a new shop,so we sat there for a few,and a guy walked out of the shop, asked can I help you?,I said yes,do you know where GYC is? he said yea with a sheepish, cocky look,he gave me some crude directions, and said good luck with a wink ,we ventured in the area, didnt find it.
I said to Dave we aint done yet, I saw a motorcycle shop, went in,same attitude, the guy gave me the thumb down thata way..I laughed, he laughed, and then said it is right down the street,on Kathryn and 35th,went there pure crap for street signs here, they just dont exist,we had to count blocks, and finally asked google for the street name Kathryn, and finally we found it.
I got out knowing they were closed, but why not give a look see and knock.
Well sure enough a guy came out,and was somewhat protective of the front door ,I dont blame him, there is easily millions of dollars worth of cars if not way more.(see pix).
He asked ,can I help you, I said we were on a road trip, and tried to get here before closing and just couldn't get here on time, he asked where are you from I said Colorado, he raised his brow ,said wow long way, I laughed and said Dave here is from the U.K. pretty much 6500, miles from home, another eye raise, he said hold on let me call Mark..........he said sit tight ,he is on his way back with a car to be picked up for delivery.
We chatted for, about 3 mins, and a large car hauler pulled up, one of the huge multi fully enclosed units, they guy said Mark is on his way with the car be maybe 2 minutes, and up pulls Mark in a drop dead killer plum crazy,440 6 pac,4 speed car, looked like 1970 all over again, it was just done and we were the first to see it.
I DIDNT DARE TAKE A PIC WITH OUT ASKING,from what I have seen on the show I was a bit gun shy.
So I asked they said it is cool, I just shot away as much as I could ,still kind of star struck, but confident in the two of us we could hang, and we did.
I walked up the Mark introduced my self and Dave, he asked what brought us up here , I explained Vanishing Point, he thought that was very cool,I didnt want to take up any more of his time, and told him so, but sure enough they asked us in the shop,HELL YEA I said,we went in and Royal showed up,and things just seemed to get really relaxed,we fit in we knew our stuff and they knew it,we spent 2 hours there after hours, they were all so nice, and cool, just totally changed my mind about Mark and the whole show, the show is a total created drama, these guys are very nice, and went out of their way to stay late just to chat.
The one thing we learned is they really dont make alot of money on the cars,Marks Phantom cuda was/is a basket/strainer, he was told it cant be fixed ,he started to document with a video, and from there is where the show started .
Now they are doing the cars, but the money is selling the show.
So here are some pics we got,and wow what a day to remember,Graveyard carz made this trip truly memorable.
Just to mention some of the cars,as there were stories for all them.
The white hemi charger for instance is one of less than 60 cars, this one was built for a race car driver, name not known, but as you can see it has a rare as hell rear spoiler that caught our eye,as well as special wheels, and some trim options,I dont know much about chargers,so Royal gave me the scoop.
The blue runner on the lift is one the many cars Mark Goldberg owns, under resto.
The orange/red Bird outside was a family driver, and the wife has the car there in que for resto.
The cars are very organized ,most in que, some ready for dipping, and then cars in the shop are in final assembly.
