Alternative to Dynamat

Post by Steve »

Anyone used or know of a good, cheaper alternative to self adhesive Dynamat sound deadening material please? Need some to do the inside of the roof and the floor pan on the New Yorker but don't want to buy rubbish. The budget is getting tight on the project!!

Also, if I fit sound deadening under the new carpet, do I still need to, or is it advisable to fit new jute padding underlay as well?

Thanks in anticipation gang,

Cheers Steve :thumbright:

This stuff looks good. At 2mm thick its going to need jute underlay as well...

Hi Steve,

Do a eBay search for 'fatmat xtreme'. Seen it mentioned a few times in local forums as an alternative. I've no first hand experience of it myself.

Thanks Adrian, I noticed that when I was searching....there just seems to be such a choice that I was keen to go for something that someone has experience of and can recommend. Seems like quality can differ widely between products so you get what you pay for I think :thumbright:

Thanks for your help Latil....appreciated as always :thumbright:
