Hi I've been trying to find out what size wheel nuts I need for my 1972 Duster.
I think there 7/16" can anyone advice?
Cheers.

I think all Mopars are the same size. Check first becouse some A bodies had reverse threads on them (some rear axles as i recall). North Hants tyres stock 'em.

7/16ths is correct for A bodies. 1/2" for others, pre '70 have lh and rh thread, Duster should be rh all round

On an A body it's 7/16" left and right hand thread on 4"PCD (up to '72), 1/2" RH on 4 1/2"PCD ('73 on). Sometimes the LH studs have been swapped out so you need to check that your car still has them.

Ok, its probably just me but I'll a little confused now.
Mine is a 72, the nuts all undo the same way(pretty sure) and the PCD is definitely 4 1/2"
So that's 1/2" thread?

Hmm, that's not standard for that year so things have been altered, if later parts have been fitted to get 4 1/2" PCD then it will be 1/2", if the stock parts have been redrilled to 4 1/2"PCD then it could be 1/2" or 7/16"
you are gonna have to check, me Chrystal balls broken!

ok cheers for your help there are other 73 bits on the car, ball joints for example so chances are high on 1/2" me thinks.
I'll find out how to check for sure though

Just measure the thickness of the stud or the diameter of the hole in the nut!!

Get 2 taps of 7/16 and 1/2 and see which one lines up on the threads correctly. Make sure they are fine thread.

it will be either 7/16UNF or 1/2UNF , if its 7/16 it is the same as early ford (anglia etc) if its 1/2 its the same as jag
