Old pod pics.
Hi,
Thought a few of you would like a look at these , all were taken in the early 80's by a friend of mine, he said he could remember the red Hemi challenger being about £4000 but as well all know that was still a lot of money back then, some of you will know better but is it the one that Richard ward restored?

Cheers Chris
a guy the worked for Hotcar magazine circa 1979-80 put out a wanted add in some usa mags for a hemi chall/cuda and this car got offered him it was yellow with TA stripes they used it for a bit of racing it may have had nos fitted either here or stateside and they did a feature on the car in there mag i loved the look of the car back then,, some how yrs on Richard got a hold of it and restored it great job but it was just another plum challenger then to me one for the purists,,,,

I was at that meeting, I have almost the same photo's! Stu Vallance owned the hemi car at the time, I remember it as 6 grand but I could be wrong, Whatever, it was a very expensive car when at the time when 2.5 grand would have bought you pretty much any muscle car you fancied, no idea what it sold for in the end. The brown one was Les Szabo's at the time, that's him on the edge of the picture.

Yes Drew it is indeed a sticker type no plate, mosly reserved for e type jags and 60,s sports cars they looked cool on certain cars,,drewcrane wrote:Ok an ignorant yank question the challenger in the first pic, the front plate looks like a sticker , is that the way they did it back then?
seems kinda cool,no mounting bracket, but the coppers can still see the number.

Along with Pete I was involved with selling the hemi Challenger 3 times ! Stu Valance restored the car back to original. We then sold it to Alan Vincent who went to the US and took the car with him. He then came back to the UK with the car. We then sold it on his behalf to Ian Giles and I rebuilt the engine at that time. We then sold it on Ian's behalf to Jeff Barley who I believe sold it to Richard Ward. I almost made a living out of that one car !

Blue I think tony has that hood from the Hemi challenger in his shed as he has one to replace the damaged one on the T/A Challenger and I know it has 426 Hemi emblems on it.
Also I'm pretty sure the T/A style hood was available in the 70 model year on Hemi challengers for a few months ?? ( possibly due to shaker hood production problems ?) Any challenger experts ?
