Undersealing service in Herts/Essex wanted?

Post by mrroverrover »

Anyone know anywhere not a million miles form me to do a proper underseal job on my Bluesmobile?

Yes I could do myself like a lot of you probably do but I just don't have time or the room to do it properly so I wan't to just pay and get it done properly before it goes into hibernation at end of month.

Anyone?

Are you waiting for a £360 quote?? ;)

Any feedback on a Trader would be good!

A Triumph club member used Rust Master and was pleased, here is what he wrote.

this is a place out in the sticks AL10 9BB near Wheathampstead,
she.s had a good wash and scrub and scrape down of the underbelly
followed by all sections being liberally coated with a non setting
re-coatable product with a 5 year warranty

and not a drop on my new garage floor ...whoopee !!!

yes its cost a few £££s but im well impressed ....its an age
thing....just didnt want to dress up like an E bola nurse
and its an end to hot buckets and messy pump up sprayers..

Had a few more quotes. The £440 quote was in Milton keynes so still looking local.
Will get one booked soon and post updates.

Booked in for the full works inside and out at http://www.cskautomotive.co.uk/ on 27th Oct. They'll do it over a few days to do a proper job and they're literally 3 minute drive fro me!
Will report back with pics and price ;)

Well I got the Blumo back last weekend from the undersealing.
He had it for 4 days to make sure the various stages were dry before the next etc.
I'm very pleased with the result and especially the price though time will tell if it's still in one piece in another 40 years time ;)

Not sure I should say what I paid BUT it was CONSIDERABLY cheaper than the £740+ quoted at Rustmaster in Harpenden and it's a very thorough job.

The guy said even though he's a Land Rover specialist he'd happily quote and rustproof any of my Mopar friends for a very favourable price. So just call or email Chris at http://www.cskautomotive.co.uk/ tell him Ben with the Bluesmobile sent you ;)

A few pics :)

Looks good and mine needs re-doing and also just down the road from me in Hoddesdon as well. I have one question that may be slightly stupid though, with this sealant on, is it still easy to undo the nuts and bolts if you need to replace anything?

Ah another Hoddesdon local!
Yes nuts undo easy. It's not a hard paint type thing and you can crack nuts off no problem. Ideally you'd need to re apply a similar product after refitting though.

Another word of advice is to ensure he covers the car up while doing it as I said not to worry but it was covered in overspray that needed polishing off. Luckily I'm not too bothered about shiny paint so that's probably why he didn't bother either.

Looks like a good thorough job :thumbright:

But if I had it done, i'd want to have just the bodywork done - not the axle, brakes, exhaust, shocks.... :?

.....which would no doubt take longer to prep, so more £££

Looks thorough, but I hate the idea of spraying a nice rust free chassis with black gunk. I just use Gibbs and renew it whenever I need to. Car hasn't rusted underneath at all and everything is clean to work on and easy to undo.
Costs me £30 a year and an hours work.

It looks extremely thorough and no doubt will meet your needs in terms of all year weather protection.

I do spy one additional issue regarding your discussion to Big Block the car though.......
