Before and After...

Post by GJUK »

Lets see your 'before' and 'after' photos of your Mopar cars guys, I am sure some of you have had your cars many years, it would be interesting to see how they started out and what they look like now...

Mine's had a long journey...
I picked it up 11 years ago from Hugh Potter, trailered halfway across the country behind a horribly inadequate Isuzu.

I've replaced virtually everything except the shell and interior.
The motor came from Pete W, the 4-speed from Dunc, the axle, wheels & various other bits from the U.S. via Andy Neal, Heads repaired & built by Dave B, paint by me and my mate Doug in my garage. I've had incredible amounts of help from the above, along with Dave R, Ade W and many others.
I got married in it, it's been to Santa Pod but dropped a valve on it's first run.
Except that I originally planned to paint it black, it's pretty much exactly how I always wanted it :D

When I first bought the car (1986 & £200!) it was a /6 with a rod hanging out the side, I slipped a mild 440 in it's place & had it running 11's as a daily, then some twat drove into the side of it! Drove it like that for a few months then had the back half done, Dana 60 & 4 link etc. Never got it finished & swapped it for a '69 Super Bee with Terry R

Image

Terry put it all together & ran it with a tunnel rammed 451 eventually giving it a blow over in satin black

Image

Couple of years back I was itching for another muscle car & it was for sale so I now have it back, although I was originally building it to go racing I have scratched that itch & having raced a mid 7 second car for a couple of years & been involved with Pro Mod for a few years I really couldn't go racing in a 10 second car so it's going to be a street only motor (well maybe the odd RWYB!)

Image

It's coming together slowly & I've just moved to a bigger workshop so all I need is a bit of time.
You can't have too much power, only a lack of traction!
