Car was in the shop this afternoon... Before I left for the day, motor was out and at the motor builders. Asked for a 400hp build. That is going to be way too much for what I need. But fun! Gearbox is also off for a freshen up.
Hope it all goes well, want this thing fired up asap!

Looking sorry for itself now.... Hope to do some mocking up on it this weekend, get the bed floor in, and battery location sorted. As well as take a brand new chrome gas tank, and age it. Ordered new fuel pump today and a new carb. Should have those in tomorrow. Hoping the 750DP is not too much.
Actually I ordered two fuel pumps, one mechanical, the other a nice looking leach Billet job from summit, with billet filter and regulator.. Not sure which one to go with yet. Lot of money spent so far, and not a lot to see for it! Scary stuff. Also have to decide on amount of chop, probably 3-4".

Gearbox is fine, guy said it looked like a new build. So that is cool! Gonna be strange driving a manual again!

Motor was stripped, no problems found, is a 4 bolt mains motor. He has cleaned up the bores, and is about to reassemble. Guy has built a zillion 350 motors in the past, and given me a good deal for a 390 HP motor. Not mind blowing, but how much can a 85 year old truck take without significant strengthening?

3:73 Posi rear end now in the truck. And all new brakes. All from a 57. Front end is all new, 3" dropped beam on leaf springs. And disc brake conversion.
Ford steering box and column. Brake and clutch master cylinders are in and bled. Radiator is newly built 3 core Job.

That looks very nice Jeff, I certainly would say no to it. Not a big roof chop fan though. Look forward to the updates. Keep em coming.

...and a chain to your wallet that could hold the Queen Mary.

Then you will look like a true individual ;)

I think that will be a great ride when it is all done, I think you have made a good choice there.

Hi Jeff, that is a very good looking pickup.

How much of a chop are you considering? Doesn't need too much, but that's just my opinion.

Good luck with the build and have an enjoyable 2016 just driving.

Regards
Arthur
