Your top 5 "Sounds"....

Post by Pete »

Another personal list:

1) Top Fuel car on full power pass - it has to be No.1, there is no sound like it in the world.

2) XH558 Vulcan on re-heat - that banshee roar is unique.

3) A P51D Mustang in a dive with that fantastic Merlin and the wind whistling over the Gun Ports.

4) Any Mopar on open headers - Tied with a Ducati with Termis on over-run.

5) Lemmy's bass on full over-drive - such as the beginning of

WORST Sound:

That horrible and never-ending lock up of brakes and screech of tyres as you look in your rear view mirror and realise the plum behind you in the Disco has Bananarama! up and is about to give you a bit of rear entry.

Fortunately, I managed to edge forward and save a lot of paperwork.

What are your top 5??

You do not disappoint, Andy; predictable to the last.

Is her moan shortly followed by the immortal words "Is it in yet?" ;)

Meanwhile, back on topic......

Non after burning engines Pete, went pretty well dry, gawd knows how it would've gone 'wet' , intake volume might've been problematic along with fuel consumption ;)

Always like the sound of the Merlin (Packard & Rolls Royce) but a Shack MR3/3 with all six engines 4x Griffon 2x Viper jet was quite a sound, however, I'd throw the sound of ME109G Black 6's DB605 made into the hat :D

The banshee wail of a Lightning at full chat.
Lisa Gerrard, the most incredible voice I have ever heard.
A modified eliminater car launching at 9 grand.
Helena Bonham Carter saying "yes of course I'd like to join you for a drink"....

Don't be silly, Pete - you would never get 500 Matchboxes to start at the same time - if at all!!!

I think some of the others are attainable, though.

Showing my age, I have seen:

No Saturn V but a Space Shuttle launch (at night),
a Lightening pass,
Sammy Miller's 3 second pass,
XH558,
An F4 at an airshow back in the day (never saw an SR71 actually fly)
The No sleep till Hammersmith tour.

I have not been accosted by HBC, but I can see the appeal, though......

the noises a woman makes in the bedroom / back seat or when your / she doing certain activities .. don't mean nagging  , heres my other number one below / top 5

1 = top fuel nitro Hemi
2 = yank V8 with open headers
3 = sound of the original mopar gear reduction starter ,cranking & the motor firing up , also the sound of my charger when you shift it from neutral to drive , with foot on the brake , the engine note changes , & the lope of the cam =P~ 8-)
4= when you have hooked into a large fish , either fresh or sea , & the line is whistling , night time more eerie , sounds weird I know but any fisherman will know this sound :thumbright:
5 = pretty much all of the below

yeah I know , this / these are more than top 5
