On voting systems I'd have the AMS system used in Scotland and Wales which retains FPTP but adds a proportional elect so every vote counts
So far no Scots government has collapsed. Wales, not quite but any system where safe seats exist wil stop people voting and create complacent politicians
I'm no UKIP fan but democratically they should have got around 85 seats and got one. Meantime SNP got less votes and 56 seats. UKIP got one. Can't be right
EU in or out

I never met anyone who voted for Thatcher, nor do I know anyone who voted for Cameron yet they both got in...latil wrote:It will, like the one in 73,when not one person my father spoke to had voted in. He ran a shop and saw a lot of people.
A few bundles of no vote papers thrown in the yes box after counting, blantantly obvious something goes on sometimes.
No-one will believe you...

Cheers Mucker!
Got myself a wee bit carried away there, there is a slight chance I took things the wrong way.
Although I still feel there is selective viewing by 'those that must not be disobeyed'.
Still, I agree with your sentiments 100%

I think its called the silent majority? Same on here, there will be a large portion here that view this thread and will keep their cards close to their chest. The lack of people apparently voting for Thatcher or Cameron can be akin to the amount of fighting age Germans after the war who where not Nazi's, never knew what happened in the camps and never hurt anyone.
Regardless which way the vote goes the losing side will have a large majority shuffling their feet and looking at the ground mumbling that they never voted the opposite way. No backbone anymore, we're conditioned to avoid conflict, know our place, keep our heads down, not make a fuss and most importantly do what those that have perceived powers tell us.

And given that was what the country decided at that election, its reasonable to assume that had this just been BAU (i.e. a government decision) to stay in or out, we'd we in and that would be that.
Thats not the interesting point with this. The interesting bit about this referendum is a) The leading party are divided and b) Its one of the few specific individual items the common man can vote on.
It'll be interesting !

If you have 1/2 hour to spare, watch this. It gives an accurate history of the EU and how it really does or will affect our future
