Hi all went to change the clocks on my 318 satellite today put a second hand set in un tested turned the ign on and smoke came from the fuel gauge (burnt out) and now I have no power to the fuse box and won't even turn over Have I burnt out some thing else

Not sure what happened. Have you looked under the hood? There are two fusible links which should burn out to prevent any further damage to the electrics. Should be close to the bulkhead wiring block on the engine bay side.

It would be obvious under the hood , the fusible link would be charred and broken. If that's not it I'm afraid you probably have a mess under the dash and I would remove it and do a visual check.
