Had 3 of these fly over the house yesterday, two over work this morning and another 2 have just come over. Never seen them before, does the RAF have them? Googling seems to suggest they are USAF, so I wondered if their presence had anything to do with the Obama visit? What do you military buffs think?

They came in over my place in central London last night... they were only about 600ft up! very loud... they were in Heli mode and had some regular helicopters around as well... guessing it's Obama.

We get to see them quite often around where I live which is Hingham in Norfolk , and as Chris says they come from Lakenheath I think.
When you see them coming over around dusk they have green lights in each of the props and you get to see two 'OO' s in the sky .
Very impressive and loud, we have a battle area about 10 miles away and you get to hear and see some unusual stuff from time to time, word has it the Belgium army were here a few weeks ago with a bunch of Hueys mixing it up with a British light tank regiment .
I think that Lakenheath's days are numbered so how we will see and hear this stuff is anybodies guess.

Two of 'em rattled my tiles again yesterday morning, if it was to do with Obamas visit I guess that will be the end of it. At work we get 2 Chinooks come over a couple of times a week, they seem to follow the river lea till they get to Tottenham, circle the yard a couple of times and then head off back the way they came. That's been going on for years, assume it's some sort of training flight.
