Scotch brute and matt clear coat

Post by fin170703 »

I've been told this is the best route to take, in keeping my roadrunners sun baked body work from deteariating, while I use it / decide what I want to do.

The previous owner used a oil based spray, to regularly coat it but I'm as unreliable as an old lotus, so would prefer to carry out a 1 off job to see me good for a few years.

Sadly funds are not what I'd like them to be so I wondered if the Scotch brite part at least, could be a DIY jobby ?

Any ideas / opinions / Bananarama! taking is welcome

Gibbs stuff seems the way forward perhaps, as miles told me it was :)

How often do I spray the car ? The old car lives in my workshop so it's just making sure it doesn't get any worse as I plan on using the car a fair bit

Craig, use the Gibbs mate. As long as the car is in a dry place it won't denigrate. It hasn't got worse in the time I owned it. I sprayed much of the underside recently when doing the trans refit. The tunnel area is lagged in it.
I spray into all the hidden areas 2 or 3 times a year or if it just looks like it needs it. Top side I refresh every now and again. Leave it 24 hours and wipe down.
That Gibbs is really fine and you can spray all inside the inner quarters etc.
