she dead ,,,engines out for a refresh ,re bore and various other work ,cant wait for the short mtr to come back ,30 thou over ,little bit of fettleing on the heads, going to run a 650dp this time ,to run her in ,,,lifes good but expensive

as some of you know ,she was always a bit stinky, and I bought the stroker with issues ,and used it for two years, should be a bit of an animal when shes back together,,the engine is very well done on the inside ,the work that needs doing for the 4" crank is very close to everything ,bores notched and stuff ,when the crank throws are up the pistons are only a couple of mil off the crank ,its all very tight ,looks like ive got to hunt down oversized pistons and stuff ,as my engine bloke ,,who is good ,but used to run of the mill stuff ,but does have the latest machines ,,so its down to me ,,,,o,, Bananarama!

the 451 that was in the demon was a walk in the park compared to this ,,should have just bought a 318 lol :D

it's never a good plan to bore the engine without pistons. some need more clearance than others and you may find that some oversizes are not available.

Should be an interesting build up, Terry.

All the "talk" is that this stroker is a walk in the park; clearly it is not...

deffo pete ,,,,,nothings easy ,,still hunting pistons ,everything is 408 ,most will fit ,but the later magnum block has a shorter deck height ,and they say use a bigger head gasket ,I don't know if I like that idea ,was chatting to dave billadue about things ,and he is right about what will go in the hole and getting the right quench and stuff ,,wish I had just give it too him now ,but hey ho

have a look inside mine mate ,all the bores are notched and the crank throws are really tight ,interesting stuff ,but sod doing the work ,big block is not so bad

You can get custom pistons made (I should know, I have had to do it enough times); I would not compromise with a thicker head gasket, unless your existing compression is excessive, if it was avoidable.

could be a plan, let me know what part number,so I can see what head gaskets are in it ,been onto hughes and they have found me a forged piston that is used in the magnum blocks, has a slightly different pin height to most available ,very helpful to and a great price :thumbright:
