AMD v Sherman panels
I need a passenger side rear quarter panel skin which AMD no longer produce. I can get the full OE AMD quarter panel from them or a Sherman rear quarter skin but i hear lots of bad reviews of Sherman. Anyone any experience of these? Don't really want to pay for a full rear quarter if at all possible. Many thanks. Gerry
I used Sherman YEARS ago and the panels I used were "OK"....but since then there has been a proliferation of panels first from Goodmark, and then later AMD. I'm not aware that Sherman even produce their own panels, most likely they get them from one of the others.
Regardless, almost universal feedback I've seen is that AMD are certainly the best....anywhere else, you may be lucky depending on the particular panel, but the best you'd get is as good as AMD, and possibly a lot worse.
Having said all that, it depends on the panel as well - some need to be more precise than others. They are probably all going to need some work, especially external panels. Come to think of it, I did actually get my Challenger rear quarter panel skins from Sherman! And they did need some work but nothing drastic. On a Challenger they are pretty flat panels, they do have a bodyline but nothing too difficult to produce.
Not sure this has really helped
