Don't forget (like I nearly did) that you should pay the Dartford Crossing Charge in advance, if going to Brands around the M25 from the north side of the river - tho you have until midnite the following day to pay if you do forget.

I'm sure most people know all this already, just thought it worth posting in case it saves even one person from getting a hefty fine if they weren't aware

and don't forget you have to pay for both directions... unless you want to drive the other way round the M25 to save a coupla quid
