Big amp alternator wiring. Is this ok?

Post by MilesnMiles »

Just wired a big 130"amp to the Fox Mustang. Did it properly e except one query.
The main power line from the back of the alt I wired to the battery live post. Is this ok and does it make any difference whether it goes thee or to the live starter solenoid?
All wiring is upgraded and fused. Just need to know if I'm right or not.

Yep that's the way I've always done it, and then run a cable to the solenoid.

Ok Blue, thanks. Why need a run to the solenoid?
Tried the car out earlier and all seemed good. Is it to do with the switched side of the solenoid?

If it starts you clearly already have a feed to the solenoid so it's all good
