Lots of Love Needed (A Tall Order)

Time for an update, I spent all of the B/hol week back home at the folks on the Charger, went back by myself with no family so could spend as much time as I wanted working on it.

Well after spending the first Saturday recovering from the drive home the Sunday was spent removing the wings and doors for access.

Monday came and as I stood in front of her the full scale of the Tin worm damage was evident...

I almost scrapped her,

but I'd driven 550mls and had a week before the ferry home so decided to have a go and see how it went, my brother had booked some holiday from work and gave me some help for three days,

first patch going in

and at the end of the week she now has a complete firewall,

she's not pretty and won't be a prom queen but at least there's a chance we can save her

It was very close to being scrapped but decided not to give up on her

there are some large repairs yet to be done but the Firewall was probably the worst, fingers crossed

Yes Pete it was a busy week reckon we put over 100 hrs into it between us, and I'll probably owe him a pub at the end of it

Yep,brave

Been there many times,making panels,drilling out spot weld through 3 layers to get the new panel in correctly,hours of welding and grinding. All so much fun

Cheers mate, thats been my trade as well for the last 27yrs, 16 of those building commercial vehicles.

Did have my doubts about it but hey lets give it a go and hopefully I can get it finished.
