Maybe a new alternator wouldn't go amiss as you don't want to run the risk of popping the new voltage regulator. Take the old one to be tested and if it's ok you can always send the new one back. Also, check the engine bay wire harness, especially the alternator wire. I went through everything you have with my Challenger (new voltage regulator, etc), and ended up completely rewiring the engine bay as I found that some tool had spliced in (ie bent over the ends) a straightened coat hanger for the alternator wire, and loosely covered it in tape. It was part of the length that runs over the engine. Scary.
What is even more scary Phil is that the "tool" was a professional mechanic and it was his own car. Imagine what he must have been doing to other peoples cars?
hey philth god to see you on here. sho ryu ken i have an alternator from my duster ( i converter to late model japanese one) , it was ok when i removed it (just too big and ugly) yours if you want it.
