Ignition coil
Hi can anyone tell mem what resistance coil I need for my 1975 Chrysler 360 (Aussie) please ? It s got the Chrysler electronic ignition system. I want to buy a new coil, thanks shaun
1973 Chrysler CJ 360ci
original coil was an 8 volt coil with a primary resistance of about 1 ohm
replacement most used in Aus. is the local bosch GT40R (R means ballast resistor)
that's a 12 volt coil with a primary resistance of 1.2 -1.4 ohm.
hence my suggestion of similar lucas coils on other post
unless the coil is knackered I'd be inclined to keep the coil with the current box and swap the lot out for something new
coil and box/module go hand in hand
you have to match the switch to the coil
points
low voltage electronic (orange chrome etc)
High voltage electronic/high current and voltage electronic (HEI/FBO etc) aftermarket multi spark capacitive discharge MSD et al
GM HEI module and GM coil DLB198 or Blaster 2 works well
