Insurance

Post by rpeters »

Just been quoted £231 renewal for my Charger through Adrian Flux.
I think it s a little bit expensive and doesn't accrue NCB.
Any suggestions on alternatives and prices for comparison?

Remember that the MMA has a bespoke deal with Brentacre insurance, it may be worth giving them a call for a comparison; though I do not think that any "Classic" policies accrue NCD's.....

I didnt realise Brentacre accrued No Claims Bonus, that is something I didnt think happened on any classic policies. Excellent news as I've got the Land Rover with them.

The only underwriter I've used that has offered NCD on classic policies to date is HIC.

My wife is building up her 2nd set of NCB on the Demon not sure who the underwriter is on that without digging through paperwork but the broker she used was Adrian Flux.

Has anyone tried Brentacre for a quote on their daily driver insurance?
Would they apply any MMA discount for a non-classic?

Two new problem clauses with RH now they're part of Classic Line.

ï‚· A new exception to Section 1 of the policy has been introduced; which states:
Use in or on any part of an airport or aerodrome which is used for:
aircraft take-off or landing;
aircraft parking including service roads; or
ground equipment parking areas,
except where we need to provide the minimum insurance required by the Road Traffic Act.
ï‚· A new exception to Section 2 of the policy has been introduced; which states:
Any amount over the last-known list price of any part or accessory or the cost of fitting any part or accessory if the vehicle
manufacturer or its agent cannot supply it from stock held in the United Kingdom.

Steve, I'm feeling lazy, translated does that mean that parts only available in U.K. Are insured?
Regarding air strips etc..if it's for speed trails etc I've never been insured for such purposes, or is stating that if you get your car damaged, say on perimeters rd you'd still not be insured?
I need to insure the RR and things seem less straightforward these days.

What they seem to imply is that the car is only covered 3rd party only at any operational airstrip, any damages caused by aircraft or airport equipment isn't covered. Think car shows at airstrips.

The parts thing is slightly more worrying, seems they are only covering OE parts where replacement is needed and not paying anything above the last makers parts price list. It probably also doesn't cover NoS parts bought from places other than the maker or official dealer, such as ebay or a vintage parts specialist.

My renewal is here,I shall talk to Brentacre this week.
