Yuk Ive been burning coolant i think

Post by Dave999 »

i think i have a cracked head.

if its cracked in the chamber, which is what i suspect
pressurizing the chamber at TDC valves closed results in water being pushed out the radiator spout

why so much in the inlet?

couldn't see anything that indicated a gasket problem

Mmm

Valve overlap with wild cam allowing inlet and exhaust open at squish time?

Must be i guess

or the chamber was so full on occasion that it pushed loads into both exhaust and inlet.

worrying

i can't see any cracks or suspect holes either

head is in the boot to be delivered to a Watford engineering shop to be checked out

pointless me lugging it down to the south coast to be checked and welded if there is nothing to weld.

wonder if its warped i had a big slice taken off originally.....!

hope its head issue and not block i've spent the last 3 winters lugging the thing in and out again
