Its a bit odd not having to do the taxi run or go everywhere with him on L plates.

He can't drive the Land Rover yet on the road due to the insurance but is thoroughly enjoying his 1983 Mini with mk1 front end and 10 inch minator alloys.
My lad Andrew's just passed his test today too  :D Another first timer!

Must admit to being a bit worried about letting him out on own his straight away, but I managed back in the day... 1981 I think  , so I spose he should be able to cope. Luckily we work together at the moment so I can let him drive us to/from work with the P plates on and 'advise' from the passenger seat!

I'm sure he'd love a mini too but he needs a car with room for a drum kit so we'll have to stick with the old Astra until I / we replace it with something a bit newer, but still reasonable for insurance. If there is such a car... :?

The classic will have to wait awhile, methinks ...

It's good to hear about our kids turning out right. I met Matts lad at the Nats a couple of years back; talked me right through the Challenger and seemed to be a positive force for Matt getting the car sorted.
My lad doesn't even drive, but loves the old cars and happy to be seen out and about in them.
