I hope to get to santa pod for the mopar bash this year but the car won't be there as I want to race it and I need to be sure it's 100% safe first and as you know that takes time, but it would give me some inspiration to get it finished

Depends on what has been done to it. If its a stock 318/904/7.25 car with open gears then you'll be looking at around late 15s.
And then the itch for go faster parts starts........

Goodness, if you want to make it go fast, then it is better if your quest for speed starts at the back and works forward; or you will be sweeping the Diff up pretty quickly.
LOTS of help on how to make them fast AND reliable on here, but my! does it cost!

I am told it is a 413 stroker with cam, headers, air gap manifold, 770 holley and 3.55 gears so should be a bit faster than that I hope

Is there a problem with the rear ends on these then ?
Could run low 12's to mid 11's, depends on what the car weighs, how well the combination is optimised and how well it can get the power down. The harsh fact is most cars start off being slower than we hope they will be.

Didn't realise it was a stroker motor......easily in the 12s then. The original 225cI 6 cylinder and 318 v8 cars came with a 7 1/4 rear end. They call them chocolate diffs as any decent power they tend to disintegrate.
Reads like yours has been built properly, so should have an 8 3/4 rear end. Great solid diff, so no real issues to report. Should take the power well especially if it's a Sure grip.

Yep I was told it has the sure grip rear end with 3.55 gears from the factory being a demon 340. it ran 12.9 with a slipping / knackerd gearbox. Again I was told it was rebuilt 2000 miles ago but will be having the sump off to service it, check it's ok and make sure it has a shift kit fitted. A bit annoying that I don't know the engine spec but it is registered as a 413 and was built in America before import and the details of the build got lost along the way, but sounds real nice. The Cortina had a 355 chevy and was running 12.1 with a capri axle which lasted for over 4 years before it gave up
There aren't too many of us with Demon's in this country.
I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun with it.

Thanks Jon, I have already found how hard it is to get some of the demon parts. Can't find a grille anywhere so I spent the whole weekend last week welding it all back into one piece with a large soldering iron and prepping and painting it, not the best job in the world but looks a lot better than it did until I come across a better one ! But you are right I think this one is gonna be fun. And I can get my drums in the car so can take it to some of the car / bike show gigs we play at
