Then it going on a transporter to Alicante where i will meet it and drive it the 90 mins to Denia and then its a 45min crossing to Ibiza :)
Might be worth checking how you will insure it... I would expect Spain to want you to have owned the vehicle in the U.K. For a certain period before you could register it there. It a high value car and will require specialist cover. :read2:

No air con car having brand new "vintage air" (brand) air con fitted.

All he above jobs are now

Without having done all those jobs myself, I started to add up as a Guesstimate and got more than that so I would (only my opinion) say that 90hrs for all that work is quite reasonable.
I suspect there is a lot of work with fitting new air con from scratch, a gearbox change with overdrive is not quick, and even changing to discs can take some time.

It's a difficult one to answer, such as "how much should I pay for a car?" but I think this is about right. I assume that all the work done will be checked for proper function before delivery to you?

Hello again :)

The GTX was great fun in Ibiza even though we did have some issues and we lost a few weeks of use over there finding someone who understood it and waiting for parts from USA.

Its on a truck on its way back now and will be with me in Cheshire on Saturday.

If anyone in the North west has experience of these cars I would love them to drive it for me and tell me whats good and what isnt.
Im going to get it fully sorted and sweet over the winter.
Ive never driven any other yanks so i really dont know how it should go.

Thank you

Yes Duncan came highly recommended from many sources and I did manage to have a quick chat with him and he was extremely knowledgeable and generous with an instant diagnosis and solution on the phone.

I tried to get back in touch a few times to see if I could get him to actually do the job he had described but I guess he's a busy guy and I had no luck.

1870 Plymouth GTX development...

Post by PlymouthGTX »

So after a long winter knocking off jobs on the to do list prior to the GTX going back to Ibiza for the Summer we had an engine failure.

Dave Biladeau to the rescue and now we have a Biladeau built 470bhp 534 lb/ft motor running stainless headers into the full stainless system.
While it was in Dave rebuilt the gearbox again and it had a new torque converter too. We still have the Gear vendors overdrive on the back.
The gearbox now has an oil cooler fitted behind the front number plate. When Dave checked the carbs out they were not correct so a brand new Holly triple 6 pack set up was ordered from CM Frost and fitted by Dave.

During the winter we replaced the fuel tank and rear springs and the diff/LSD was rebuilt by Geoff Hauser.
The Firm Feel steering box was fitted along with various other steering bits.
Bespoke New radiator with extra cooling.
Inertia reel seat belts are now fitted and a high level brake light.

New tach and wood look dash was fitted along with a" Retrosound" Stereo system. New Dash top trimmed in leather to match the full leather interior done By Glynn Boardman. Glynn also trimmed the trunk and made all over mats.
The glove box and lower dash along with door cards and seat trims were recoloured by Dave at Leathertech in the exact jade green to match the leather. The rear speaker covers on the back shelf were also matched.
New vent grills on top of dash fitted along with all wood look trim on doors and centre console refreshed and Mopar red blue white badges repainted.
2 10" Spal fans fitted to Air con condenser.

Its been a mission!! :)
