Hi all,
In an effort to tick things off the list, I busted out the "puller" and took the steering wheel off today to replace the broken turn signal (won't cancel) and try and sort out the shorting horn which I have had to disconnect as it sounds when I turn hard left.
What I need to ask is this:
On my replacement switch, the connector is about an inch and a half wide .... will I be able to pull this up n out of the steering column as it is or do I have to remove more - I currently have the "CRUMPLED CAN" off and no more and I'd happily leave it this far.
Anyone done this ?
Also, with the horn, I'm guessing the wire is bare from friction and sounding when it grounds - can I just use some fishing line and pull it through to the bottom side and replace with new wire ?
Sounds feasible?
Cheers
garp

I have a few times, you are in this far, might as well repair or replace everything, and yes you can get the whole connector through the column, you might have to remove the flasher/turn indicator, it takes a bit, but it goes, as far as the horn, replace it all if that thing is damaged it is live and can and will catch fire(did that too) so yea try to restore as much as possible :thumbright:good luck, not to hard and working indicators are important too
