Garys Picnic/Yanks Weekend

Post by ScottyDave »

A few photos from today's visit to Shakey, met Chris and his friend Dan from Weston and Jim "Challenger" from Stourport also met a chap called Dave with a very nice Satellite.

Chris's Duster looks nice and sounds sweet :thumbright: hope you had a good run home Chris

Dave's Satellite, loved the colour of this

Cadboys Baracuda, found the car not the man

Also think I spotted Blue's new Baracuda but as it was away from the main field's I didn't wander over for a look, next time maybe.

Dave sorry mate I parked up on Friday night and was there somewhere watching races, walking and talking, as you do.

It would have good to meet you, Chris was just camping behind me so met him.

Great photos by the way :thumbright:

Numbers were definatly down this year, lots of other stuff on this weekend I guess. Had to depart a bit sharpish on Sunday as I was really suffering with my eyes, made for an interesting trip home  so sorry to everyone for not saying goodbye...

Thanks for posting. I took the satellite home Sunday night and returned in the truck for the Monday to pack up the caravan. Come 1pm, the 30 minute lunchbreak could have lasted the rest of the day, as, it absolutely Bananarama! down.
I had problems exceeding 5000rpm, so, that needs investigation. Suspecting ignition or harmonic damper fault.
Great to catch up with Dave81, John, Mick,Ali, Blue, Jim and Ian.

Great event with a great bunch of guys.......Wish I could of done Sunday, but family stuff etc etc. Do like the Atmosphere at Shakey though, everyone seems to be on the same kind of wavelength, just having fun.

What I did learn is that you don't stand between cars in the pit lane......
That chap was bloody lucky that he was stood between the rear fin and the parachute when the car two places forward jumped back when starting.....could have been nasty.

Stay safe chaps..... :thumbright:

I managed to get there for a few hours. I thought it was a very poor event compared to previous years to be honest. I used to love it but it felt like the spark was gone and the end is nigh.... Im probably wrong but the last couple of visits have left me swearing I wont go back. I still will though as its local to me :thumbright:
