New water pump woes

Post by MilesnMiles »

Fitted new water pump and gasket today. It leaked at one side despite being torqued correctly.
Remove pump, gasket fall apart.
Go to refit pump using just Blue gasket seal.
Notice that lower left bolt douesnt feel right/tight. Starts spinning in the thread. Looks like using a short bolt has damaged first few threads on the housing It bolts into.
Remove bolt. Looks too short.

Can anyone help me with. A replacement bolt for the water pump housing?
The bottom right version would do if I had a spare. It's the short bolt that only threads into the timing cover housing.
Needs to be 2.5-2.75" long.
No driving this weekend

To add to the fun, if the existing bolt which hangs by a few threads falls out...water into the oil supply  Need a bolt.
