Anyone got aspare water pump gasket at hand (s/b)?

Post by MilesnMiles »

New water pump, new (cheap looking) gasket failed. I've ordered a spare pair (Felpro) but cant get them until next week.

If anyone has one that they would post down for this weekend id be grateful. Obviously I'll post a replacement back next week.

Never had so much aggro simply replacing a water pump.

Miles, just use some of that silicone gasket maker in a tube. That's what I used. Only needs a smear. Mind you, it's a much smaller mating surface on abig block.

I did Adam, dam thing still leaked! Fist time I fitted it I think the gasket might have slipped as I moved the pump past the power steering bracket.
The second time I just used gasket blue and torqued it down. Still leaked..

I'll have a look tomorrow, Miles. I did have a couple and I also made the one that's been on the Demon for a year or so :thumbright:

I did a combination on all mine, SB and BB. Light smear on each face and gasket between. Never leaked :)

Thanks James, looks like I've been unlucky or not cleaned the faces sufficiently. At least I've got nice new bolts that fit properly now!
