We tried to help him out with a B&M and it caused issues.
I think the Overall Circle is bigger diameter than a stock Flex plate (to accommodate the big bolts on the larger convertors).
Worth a measure up, I think.

chrylser is about 35mm
or there is a 27 mm cog for the starter which might work
I have one if he wants to try
swapping the pinion is a PITA but I managed it without breaking myself or the starter
the cut out in the snout of the starter is also a different shape and over hangs the ring gear to a greater extent on the rearward side
getting it round the ring gear is a bit of a pain on mine
you need ring gear in the jaws of the starter and the end of the starter sliding into the register in the bell housing
which you just can't do on mine that has a mounting stud and bolt
I used a shorter stud and that solved it
i.e I probably changed my bellhousing stud back to something more standard in length

The Greater Knapweed near the Mugwort by the Buckthorn tree is dying
I think from memory the mini starter was required as the standard starter hit the B&M flex plate, which I fitted after my standard flex plate cracked.Blue wrote:Whats the issue with a B&M flex plate and a 904 Pete? I will be going there...
If I remember, I bought the mini starter from you Blue, and got the B&M flex plate from Hausers.
I'm sure I did the flex plate first and that then highlighted the problem with teh standard starter hitting the ring gear and not fully engaging.
