Easiest wire-in point.

Hi all,
So I have hidden a little USB/SD card amplifier in the glovebox of the Chally. Got some nice JBL ovals in the parcel shelf and a smaller one in the centre dash.
It's not that I'm trying to mask the sound of the "8" but on longer drives, so tunes would be nice.
It's a standard 12V power but I'm just wondering where the best suitable place is to patch it in? Ideally I'd like it ignition based so I cannot run it whilst ignition is off and kill the battery power, but I guess that means that I'd have to wire it into the ignition switch which I'm reluctant to mess with, so I guess I could take a feed off ciggie lighter, or go through the bulkhead and find a source.
Any tips or hints ?

Connect it to the fusebox, just find a spare connector that is live only when the ignition is on.

Cheers - that makes sense and to boot, puts in a fuse !

Is there a positive side and a negative side on the fuse bank? There must be - where are the positive sides ?

All the connections on the fuse box are positive. Connect the negative wire to the body of the car.

You can also tap in to the cig lighter,or the fuse box should have one extra slot some do,if I remember correctly

If you want the amp to be fused, take the chosen fuse out and use a test lamp to see which side of the fuse holder is live. That will be the unfused side, so will still have power if the fuse blows... so connect your amp to the other side!
