Two year anniversary.

Post by Super Sloth »

Today marks the two year anniversary of our mopar adventure.
When Nicola and I collected our Demon from Mr Madders neither of us had never driven a left hand drive car before. There's snow on the ground today, and there was snow in the air two years ago and all through rush hour traffic - talk about trial by fire!
I don't normally carry cash, but I had £300 in my wallet that day for fuel. I couldn't even get £60 in the tank and there was over half a tank of jungle juice left when we rumbled into the close later that evening so that was a pleasant surprise to say the least!

Over the last 2 years we've met an awful lot of new friends attended some really exceptional events got married and had a good few miles and laughs along the way. We haven't really used the car quite as much as I would have liked - I think we've covered about 5500 miles in 2 years?

Anyway... The MMA has been a big part of our lives for the past 2 and a bit years and I just wanted to say thankyou to all those who put in the effort behind the scenes - Matt, Derek, Pete, Steve et al. Without access to the resources of this club we likely wouldn't have had an american car at all let alone be talking about a 2nd one!

All the best,

Super sloth & Mopar Monkey. :thumbright:

:) Well done, Jon and Nicola, long may it continue.

There's nothing like going to pick up a "new" old car and, like us, it appears you still have plenty of happy enthusiasm for these old motors.

Enjoy and I cant wait to see what you add to your fleet :atthemovies:

An excellent post, and thanks for the kind words.

I am so glad you have enjoyed your time with the Demon, and I am really pleased that you have found the MMA beneficial - we certainly enjoy having both of you along!!

One word of caution.

DO NOT LISTEN TO BLUE!

I made that mistake 20 years ago, and I am still cutting up cars as a result..

However, if you DO get into Racing, there is nothing else like it!!!

All the very best.

I'm glad it has worked out well for you both, and nice that you have found the club to be so helpful.
It is a bit tricky trying to tell someone how to spend their money, but I knew this car would be a good one from the start, hence the persuasion. I'd also like to thank you for your enthusiasm and willingness to use the car, especially for the NEC.

Contemplating another American car, sounds interesting??

You say you haven't used it alot but 5500 miles in two years is loads I'd say, and is probably doing the car the world of good.
It's not daily driver mileage but quite a healthy amount. I doubt I do 2000 a year in the Challenger and I consider that I use that fairly frequently.

Keep up the enthusiasm, these Mopars have a strange hold over you, 23 years I've had mine and it still makes me smile every day.
