Water

Post by Duster1 »

Can anyone tell me if this is good or bad.
I’ve removed the exhaust headers from the heads and the rear bolt on the passenger side had water coming from it.
This in turn had rotted away the exhaust gasket.
To mean this isn’t a good sign.
Cheers

I remember Jim (challenger on here) telling me the bolts / studs pass through a water jacket so losing a bit of coolant would be perfectly normal if you'd not drained down the cooling system?

Cheers lads
Big sigh of relief
So on replacement would it be advisable to use a watertight sealant on the stud when fitting back to head.

Yes, put silicon on the bolts before re-fitting. Helps stop the bolts rusting in a bit as well....
