OK, so next on the list - starting to look at the Motor, first thing then and rather worryingly the Sump looks like it has had quite a bash and I'm concerned the oil pickup might be being restricted. So any recommendations where to source a new Sump ? I will post a pic later - I can't believe it's not split and passed repair - (I missed this when buying)

Also, Leaf Springs, looking to get these reconditioned or replaced, any recommendations ? lots of places advertised do this, but mainly smaller stuff.

Sorry for all the questions, but doesn’t anyone still use Tramp Bars ? I had a set back in the day and they seemed to work ok ... good/bad idea ???

Exhaust looks nice, that will sound good even with the cutouts closed!

That sump looks OK, the speed bumps make you cringe though!

Springs vary aftermarket I find, I understand there are a few places around the smoke that can re-arch leaf springs, probably the best way, they should do bigger ones as a lot of trucks use them.

Traction bars vary to, several available but most seem to use Cal tracs these days.

It’s not the Transmission Sump that’s the problem, it’s the engine sump that’s bashed in.

Just been looking what’s needed to get this off, looks like the steering linkage bar & a few hard to get to bolts above the cross member

The sump in your link looks OK.Maybe get a fresh windage tray at the same time but I would think it would be ok if its still there.

Windage tray, is this like a sump baffle ?

Will look one up - it’s quite a faff getting Sump off so may replacece the oil pickup as well if this is damaged.

Struggling to get the steering cross member off, managed to get the inner joint out, but the outer hanging in there

You can just see the trashed sump ... think last owner must have tried jumping Hazzard creek !

Anyway both inner joints came off not too bad which allowed the link to drop down, more than enough to get the sump off.

What was an absolute bugger was getting the Front bolts out the sump directly above the cross member - had to turn a socket down to get in there.

Still job done, cleaned and now on the hunt for a new pan

Just thought I would post an update (and a question)

Managed to ge the Nuts off under the dash that hold the brake master cylinder on and had to sacrefice a 17mm Spanner to make it 17.2ish to make it fit the Nut holding the shaft to the brake pedal.

Anyway, as per pic below, before get a bit more adventurous with removing the Rod to fit into the new unit, anyone know how this comes out, there is a slight recess in the new one, possible fitted under pressure ? (It seems quite firmly in there, but no small circlip that I can see)

I don;t want to bugger the Rod, so if I can;t get it out I will just fit the seals from the new unit and us it as is.
