Challenger on 2 Guns

Post by Mark B »

Hi All,

I watched the film 2 Guns the other day, not a bad film and the 1970 Challeger 440 looks awesome. Except it turns out the car's actually a 1974 318 and was made to look like an earlier car. Still looks great though. And it was for sale a few years back for £14k! Wish I'd known, would have bought it in a heartbeat.

This is the ad for the car from a few years back.

If Bullitt is anything to go by, maybe with worth a few million in 50 years time, I'll be long gone though . . .

Great film, did this car get blown up at the end or was that the Impala?

It got shot up, but that was probably just cgi, as it still seems to live.

I'm on the hunt for a car just like that!

That Uk cars for sale site had a Hemi superbird for $65grand and a GT500 stang for $55grand , bit odd . Looked into that challenger could find no explanation for the door handles

challenger/cuda handles are weak and maybe a bit fiddly to use fast, maybe who ever prepped the car saw this and thought they would put a regular fool proof handle on for dumb actors,

The Challengers used for "In Time" all seemed to have shaved door handles so I suspect it was just easier to install whatever was available than reinstating the standard handles when they needed it for 2 Guns. (Although I prefer Duncan's explanation).
Alan; whose 72 Challenger is inexorably taking over the house.

I would have bought that if I had the money. My son is a massive Mark Wahlberg fan so he would have liked it.
Also a friend of mine has been good friends with Mark for over 25yrs. I didn't know until recently.
Mark got him a part in the latest Transformers film.
Must have been fun!

Offer 14 k usd, get a new front valance ,drive it and know Mr Whalberg drove the car, wont be a bullet car,but it is a cool car even with the door handles, saw the movie/show and wondered , they did some mods to make those door handles work, still a very interesting car,the other movie "In time" if it was one of the cars used , did they have more than one car? this screen shot looks like three, however we all know Hollywood one car can easily be used for multiple shots
