A Mate of mine made a very nice replica of that car. Think it sold before it was even finished and is somewhere in the states now.

As and when I win the lottery, this would be my daily driver.....after I have built a hospital, saved some kittens and wiped out disease, hunger and poverty...obviously

I bet the guy that was selling on Ebay must be gutted as he thought his one was the genuine 'Little Red'
(Mind you it would have been up for a whole heap more if it was?)

Funnily enough, I was just reading today about the ambulance that took JFK to the hospital which Barrett Jackson sold for big money, has been proved to be a fake. Achiveists have turned up the document that proved the Kennedys had it crushed in the '80's when they obtained it from a museum. Fakes with fake paperwork have exsisted forever! Lets hope Barrett Jackson have been a bit more thorough with this one...

Just a bit off subject (sorry) but was thinking of you afew days ago Blue. Did you know that the Nazi built holiday camp at Prora is being converted into luxury flats? Wont mean much to most but will appeal to you

Yes I had heard that Steve, there have been various plans over the years which I why I wanted to see it first hand before they cocked it up. Few people appreciate modernist Architecture so it was inevitable it would be altered considerably. It is actually a fantastic beach and a very picturesque part of the world.

Re: Notchback 1968 Shelby GT500
This is what the seller has put on the revised listing.....
I have today 31st of July been contacted by a guy called Leif a so called member of the mustang world. He has informed me that maybe my car is a fake or a reconstruction. In my advertisement I did not declare that The Mustang is a one of a kind, In fact The car before you is a one and only prototype called "Little Red" a car made for Carol Shelby himself and was the fore runner for the few convertibles ever made by him and from 68 onwards the colour combination and engine gearbox and axle configuration made what we all refer to as the California special.
Please read my article I have or never referred to the car as Little Red. however I do know thats its Shelby plate does show the number of 0131, That of Little Reds the engine configuration is different as Little red was a prototype many engines were tested in her.
Unless Leif can tell me where Little Red is at this moment in time, Maybe the dealer I brought the car from in the States was honest and true to his word, the car is fantastic and if the car is found out not to be Little Red then it must be the only Little Red reconstruction in the world. You can buy a Bananarama! Elenor reconstruction with new parts for £200,000 why not own an original one thats all.
So Leif Bring your geeks to Leicestershire and lets see if I own the holy grail. Or a reconstruction of Little Red. Still the only one in the world.

We all own 'the only one in the world' of whatever mish-mash our cars are. Doesnt make them worth a fortune.
I would suggest there is a BIG difference between the real-deal and a tribute in this case... or am I missing the point ?
