Just heard that Brost is closing in 2 weeks time - currently very busy.

Paddington Springs - 020 8795 3300 may be your best option if you are down Sarf....

Doesn't surprise me, they are in the middle of Islington, Rent and rates must be horrendous and someone probably wants the land to build on. Thier previous site where they had been for decades was sold off, an architect bought it and the build was featured on Grand Designs, such is the fate of industry in the London area.

Typical. Been intending to get our leaf springs re-arched for ages (prob by Brost Forge) and just as that job gets closer to the top of the list, this happens...

I was there about 2 months ago and they were rammed with work... including a couple of royal carriages!
Shame it’s going, as Blue said it’s probably developers...

They don't want to close, it is not of their choosing..... they will not be re-opening elsewhere either...

so if they dont want to close, assuming business is good, they why dont they want to re open?
seems to me more like a retirement with a fat wedge of developers cash

I doubt they own where they are now, skyrocketing rents and business rates are forcing many people who have been in business for many years to pack up because they've had enough.

I looked at renting a unit opposite them some years ago, as they're just down the road from my main unit. Commercial rents in the area have been rising very quickly in the past few years.
