NASCAR Charger?

Post by Anonymous »

I was having a look at this web page...

http://66-67charger.com/registry/nascar/indexbot.html

...and came up with this idea for my Charger...

...dropped a PM to our very own Hugh of Drag On signs and a large box turned up in the post for a very reasonable fee. Braved the cold today to finally get them on the car as I cleaned it all up yesterday.

Result is exactly as I photoshopped and sent to Hugh, very pleased with it :) Went on easier than I thought, did it all dry as it was so cold.

Sorry for the rubbish pictures, light was in the wrong place and I needed to get indoors and thaw out.

Cool, the whitewalls don't quite fit the period racer theme, but it looks good :)

This pic is of the '66 factory Nascar special edition, IIRC 50 or so made, all Hemis. Only change to the body was a small bootlid spoiler, similar to the ones used in racing now, just not as tall ...

Looks cool Nick, maybe try the big "44" on the roof too? I tell you, I speed read your thread and was marvelling at your photoshopping in the pics with envy...till I realised you had actually gone and stuck them on the car!

Thanks guys :)

James, I guess it's more "inspired by" than a replica, I'm not about to gut the interior and fit a cage either :D

LOL @ Dave  I was thinking about roof numbers, mmmmm I sleep on it :)

Looks fantastic Nick. I vote for the number on the roof and trunk as well, and also some "426ci" callouts on the hood. Fit some blackwalls on wider steel rims too.

Any reason for your choice of "44"? Or did you just have to go one better than me... :D
