I am selling on behalf of a friend a 70 Pontiac Grand Prix, and i need an idea of it's value. I should have asked here first before putting it up on the 'non mope' section not realising it was open to joe public to view! . As i can't find another one over here to compare with can any member help with pricing.
Looks like a nice car - I think if it were mine, I'd ask for 12k at the start but be prepared to compromise if you need it gone.
My rationale here (and it's entirely subjective) is that I see this as slightly between the "muscle" end of the range (Firebird/GTO) and the full size land yachts so probably much less attractive in the market than the former but a bit more than the latter so a quick look through e-bay for cars of broadly similar year/similar market segment yields:-
1973 Gran Torino 2 dr @ 8,995
1975 Torino Elite @ 9,500 (deposit taken)
1970 Continental @ 12,995
1970 Toronado @ 13,500 (was 15,000 because I've been watching it)
1968 Galaxie 500 @ 9,995
Plus there was a 1972 Buick Riviera sold at Historics last week for 14,500 plus auction fees.
Ultimately it's worth what someone's prepared to pay and undoubtedly there will be others with different opinions.
