72 Satellite

Post by Mark B »

A mate of mine's just bought this 72 Satelitte. It's been restored, no rot and all work done.
It's a 318 auto with a double flowmaster. The 20" rims are coming off and 15" Cragars are going on.

He's very chuffed.

Very nice! 8-)
I think the 20's look ok on this car - they certainly fill out the arches better than the Rallyes... :-k

Probably the last model of car on my "to do" list.

He must be very pleased!

Yep very pleased. He had a 1970 Mustang before that for many years but realised it was the default American car and Mopar was more interesting.
I’ve mentioned the club, so should join up.

Controversial I know, but I think the more modern body style - compared to a Charger for example - can carry it off :geek:

No? Ok, i've just washed my mouth out - does San Miguel count?

Nice looking car, will look so much better without those nasty modern rims, they need to go back on a Mercedes or something...

Are there many of these on UK roads? I've only ever seen 2; one at Brooklands American Day a few years back and one at Speedfest.

I don't know how many but it isn't loads, you don't often see them around for sure.

Nice car. I know I'm in the minority - and standard would normally get my vote - but I actually like the modern larger rims on this.

Perhaps 20's are a bit too ostentatious but it certainly warrants something more sizeable than the 15' rallyes which just look disproportionately small, especially on the rear.

I'll get my coat.......
Alan; whose 72 Challenger is inexorably taking over the house.
