This may not be uppermost in your thoughts right now of course, but if the accident was caused by a hole or other road defect then it is worth getting someone down there with a camera and tape measure asap, since the local council have a duty to keep the roadway in a safe condition...
Hi All it's Sue with an update. Nipper has had a good / stable weekend to the point he was strong enough today for them to complete the surgery they started last week on his pelvis. He is back in ICU heavily sedated. They will continue to support him for the next few days. All your prayers and positive vibes are working... keep them coming. X

Thanks Derek. I've never had to use them but there are a couple of firms of solicitors who advertise in the bike press and specialise in representing bike cases.
Another update from Sue, it seems he’s on the mend but it’s going to be long and slow.
Hi All it's Sue. Nipper is awake although very groggy as drugged up for pain relief. He is still recieving ventilation to help his lungs due to the rib injury, but low oxygen being given as his body is doing that for him now. He has a long journey of recovery ahead. Still in ICU critical but stable. I will not update now for a few days as fingers crossed, there will be little change while he rests up. Thanks again for your calls and messages. They mean so much. Brilliant news !!!
I still consider myself a biker , and am more than aware of the dangers involved in taking to 2 wheels , but it was my first passion ,and still ride when I can.
Road surfaces can catch you out however experienced you are.

Thank you all for your support. Well I am very lucky to be here and well on the road to recovery after breaking my neck, shoulder, collar bone, arm, ribs, and pelvis .Pelvis all bolted together with quality Mopar bolts n braces .
I am now on crutches and Hopfully will be walking unaided by December. Docs say I should make a 100% recovery.
A pothole in the road took me out on the way back from Newlands corner and I slammed into a flower bed surrounded by railway sleepers.
I took the hit and the bike is not too bad I also have biker solicitors working on my claim against the council.
Once again thanks for all your good wishes and hope to see you all at some point next year .
Well that's some great news! Really pleased to hear you are on the mend. Hope you are prepared for fun times ahead at the airport scanners. Ha ha. My knee sets the things off everytime. Now that you are bionic, you will light the place up like a Christmas tree!
Take care, head down with the physio and you will be back good as new soon.
