At last a bit of spare time so I thought I would see if the nos fender I found would fit .The seller told me some spot welds had popped so a glued them back in my own cavalier welding style .And apart from a missing captive nut it fitted ok ish ..The gaps are not perfect but there is a good chance that it will come of again, and then I will shim it and spend some time on the gaps .Other than that one rust free wing fitted ,,tea alround

Whilst we are on a roll let’s swap axles and fit the Caltracs ,I am expecting this to end badly .It all measures up ok and the slicks are not much bigger than the road tyres so fingers crossed but I fear the welder may be needed

Well that’s pretty much today’s work done ,it’s all out and the old axle will get moved out tomorrow.Its been along time since I last touched this car and it’s been nice to get reacquainted..Look out for a major sell up of parts to fund the paint job .Tune in tomorrow for the next episode of “It looked easy in the books “

3 inch u bolts do not fit Dana’s..Wish I knew that yesterday..Oh we’ll never too old to learn something new

Changing the front spring hangers to these with the backing plate that beefs up this area .This new hangers give you an inch ride hieght difference.I used these on the cuda years ago and they are a nice upgrade

Snug fit and until I can drop it on the ground I can not tell .But to be fair it looks good but might need to trim the inside lip of the rear arche ..That’s it for today until the u bolts arrive I am mainly drinking tea
